Fort Fairfield, ME US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Fort Fairfield, ME, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just and resilient food system. Through our comprehensive program, we empower selected Fellows to engage in experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, focusing on organic food system education. This six-month Fellowship, which includes a collaborative Community Action Year, enables participants to cultivate and distribute diverse crops, conduct educational sessions in innovative health care, and lead initiatives in community gardens and farmers markets. By promoting food and ecological literacy in schools and mentoring future leaders, we strive to enhance access to healthy foods and advocate for sustainable practices in agriculture. Our Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring that all aspiring change-makers can join this important movement towards social, environmental, and economic equity in our food systems. Applications are open until March each year for the program that runs from May through October.
