Island Connections is dedicated to enhancing the independence and quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities on Mount Desert Island and the surrounding areas through our free rideshare transportation services. We understand that not being able to drive can create significant challenges, which is why we provide essential transportation for medical, dental, and vision appointments, as well as grocery shopping, meal deliveries, banking, and social visits. Our compassionate team of dedicated volunteers is ready to assist, and we also have a handicap-accessible van to accommodate those with mobility challenges. To best serve our neighbors, we recommend contacting our transportation coordinator with advance notice—5 business days for off-island rides, 4 for cross-island rides, and 3 for in-town rides—so we can match you with a driver who meets your needs.
