Dexter, ME US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Dexter, ME is dedicated to empowering the next generation of food system leaders through hands-on training and education. This fellowship sponsors individuals to become advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By offering tuition-free education, we make the program accessible to all passionate about sustainable agriculture. Our Fellows engage in diverse activities, including growing and distributing organic crops on our market-style farm, implementing innovative educational sessions for health care, and maintaining community gardens. They also play a crucial role in enhancing food literacy in schools, supporting local farmers' markets, and developing distribution channels for healthier food options. Over six months on our beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain invaluable, experiential knowledge before entering a Community Action Year where they partner with regional non-profits to apply their skills. Applications are accepted through March for an enriching experience that runs from May to October each year.
