Camden, ME US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Camden, ME, is dedicated to cultivating leaders who champion a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this immersive program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education without the burden of tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participants gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diversified crops, maintaining community and school gardens, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. By integrating food and ecological literacy into local activities and supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, our Fellows make a tangible impact in their communities. Through their subsequent Community Action Year, they collaborate with regional non-profits to put into practice the skills and knowledge acquired during their fellowship. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
