The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Buxton, ME, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators in sustainable food systems. Through a hands-on six-month program at Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, Fellows receive comprehensive training that covers organic farming, food distribution, and ecological literacy, all aimed at promoting a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Our initiative stands out by providing free tuition, ensuring that our fellowship is accessible to all passionate individuals. During their time with us, Fellows engage in community projects, support local farmers markets, and help develop innovative solutions to increase access to healthy food options. Following the immersive fellowship experience, participants undertake a Community Action Year where they apply their skills with partnering non-profit organizations. Applications are welcomed until March each year, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October.
