Maine Harvest Bucks (MHB), a program initiated by the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets (MFFM) in Bucksport, ME, is dedicated to enhancing food access for low-income shoppers through nutrition incentives at local farmers’ markets, CSA farms, and farm stands. By offering participants $5 in Maine Harvest Bucks for every $10 spent using SNAP/EBT at participating locations, we empower families to purchase fresh, locally grown produce while supporting regional agriculture. Participants can utilize their earned Bucks on the same day or save them for future use, fostering healthier eating habits and ensuring that nutritious food is accessible to all in our community.
