Scott Morse understands that life can often feel overwhelming, leaving little room for individuals to engage in peaceful introspection. With a warm acceptance and a touch of humor, he supports clients in confronting their most challenging dilemmas. Recognizing the motivation behind one’s impulses is crucial for personal growth, and without this understanding, individuals may find themselves stuck in maladaptive emotional coping patterns for years. Scott specializes in helping people identify and overcome self-limiting belief systems, fostering greater self-knowledge, confidence, and resilience to navigate the emotional strains of modern life. With over 20 years of experience in the trauma field, Scott has worked extensively with both survivors and perpetrators of abuse. He employs a range of theoretical models, including EMDR, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic approaches, and various trauma and dissociation frameworks, to assist clients in gaining awareness of and altering maladaptive coping mechanisms. He is particularly skilled in working with adolescents and adults grappling with PTSD, Complex PTSD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. As the co-founder and executive director of Barron Morse Counseling, a Trauma Informed Mental Health Agency in Saco, Maine, Scott is an EMDRIA approved clinician and actively participates on the Board of Southern Maine Regional EMDRIA. He provides clinical consultation and advanced training for trauma-informed clinicians, and his agency even offers free psychotherapy through its intern program.
