The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bar Harbor, ME, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Our program offers comprehensive training that equips Fellows with the knowledge and skills needed to promote organic agriculture and food equity. Through hands-on experience at our farm campus, participants learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement community health education, maintain school gardens, and foster food literacy in local schools. Additionally, they engage with farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives to enhance access to healthy foods. Over the course of six months, our Fellows immerse themselves in experiential learning, followed by an impactful Community Action Year, collaborating with non-profit organizations to apply their training in real-world settings. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that anyone with a passion for sustainable food systems can join us. Applications are open until March each year, with opportunities for involvement typically running from May to October.
