Based in Auburn, ME, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through the empowerment of tomorrow's leaders. The fellowship offers a unique, tuition-free opportunity that combines hands-on education in organic farming with practical experience. Selected Fellows engage in a rigorous six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm, immersing themselves in sustainable agriculture and community food initiatives. During this time, they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational programs that promote health and ecological literacy, and support local food access through farmers markets and community gardens. Following their residency, Fellows commit to a Community Action Year, where they partner with regional non-profits to apply their training and drive local food solutions. The fellowship encourages a collaborative spirit and advocates for an inclusive food system that serves all community members, enhancing not only food security but also environmental stewardship.
