Basic Needs Assistance

Basic Needs Assistance is dedicated to providing immediate support to residents of Takoma Park and the surrounding areas of southern Montgomery County, Maryland, who are experiencing financial difficulties. Our mission is to prevent families from facing homelessness and food insecurity by offering essential services that include assistance with rent and utility bills for those at risk of eviction or disconnection, as well as prescription assistance for individuals with verified medical needs. We ensure that households in crisis receive emergency food deliveries that provide a three-day supply of nutritious groceries for every family member. In addition, we connect individuals with vital referrals to other community resources. For food services, we encourage potential clients to call on specific days based on their home address to facilitate support effectively.
