Refugee Resettlement

At the International Rescue Committee in Riverdale, MD, we are dedicated to empowering refugees, asylees, human trafficking survivors, and other vulnerable immigrants by providing essential food assistance and support services that enable them to thrive in their new home. Our comprehensive Refugee Resettlement program ensures that each individual receives crucial resources, including furnished housing, rental assistance, access to healthcare, and nutritious food. We also offer English language classes and skills training in job hunting, computer literacy, and financial management, along with educational support for children and vital legal services to aid in residency and citizenship applications. Upon arrival, our caring caseworkers and volunteers warmly greet refugees at the airport, guiding them through a smooth transition into their new lives. Together, we strive to create a welcoming community that helps newcomers build a brighter future.
