Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Lusby, MD US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lusby, MD, is committed to cultivating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system by sponsoring and training dedicated Fellows as advocates and educators. Our program offers tuition-free organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, fostering accessibility and inclusivity. Through hands-on experience, selected Fellows engage in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops on a market-style farm, leading educational sessions in innovative healthcare, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. They also support local farmers markets and develop channels for healthy food access, all while mentoring newer cohorts of Fellows. Over a six-month experiential residential program followed by a Community Action Year, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their training and drive meaningful change. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
