At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Havre De Grace, MD, we are committed to nurturing future leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Our program offers a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to receive comprehensive training that empowers them to advocate for an equitable food system. Through hands-on experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in organic food system education, learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, and implement innovative health and ecological literacy programs. We focus on promoting access to healthy foods by supporting local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, while also connecting with community partners. The Fellowship is tuition-free to enhance accessibility, ensuring that anyone passionate about food systems can participate. Our immersive six-month program is followed by a Community Action Year, where Fellows apply their knowledge alongside regional non-profit organizations to make a tangible impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship beginning in May.
