Laura Michie

Laura Michie, MEd, MA, CCC-SLP, is a dedicated speech language therapist with a passion for helping individuals of all ages, from infants to elders. Her expertise lies in addressing developmental disorders, articulation and language disorders, motor speech disorders, fluency issues, and cognitive language disorders stemming from traumatic brain injuries or strokes. Laura also specializes in progressive neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease and multiple sclerosis, as well as memory disorders like Alzheimer's and dementia. Engaging with families and caregivers, she supports them in navigating acceptance and adaptation related to communication and swallowing challenges. Laura's mission centers on empowering clients and their families to advocate for active participation in communication within their communities. Her therapeutic approach encompasses various techniques, including cognitive linguistic therapy, play therapy, and integrative language elements. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team at the Healing Circles Wellness Center, Laura strives to provide holistic and integrative therapy solutions that benefit every individual she serves.
