Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Edgewood, MD US
Based in Edgewood, MD, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship at the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a food system that is just and sustainable. Our program offers a unique, tuition-free opportunity for selected Fellows to immerse themselves in hands-on organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, empowering them to grow and distribute diverse crops, maintain community gardens, and integrate food literacy into educational settings. Throughout the Fellowship, participants engage in transformative projects that foster healthy eating and ecological awareness, including support for farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. This six-month experiential learning journey culminates in a Community Action Year, enabling Fellows to apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profits. Join us in building a resilient food ecosystem that prioritizes social and environmental justice, with the application period closing in March for the following May through October cohort.
