Katie Streett

Katie Streett, a dedicated counselor with an MS and LGPC, creates a nurturing environment at Maryland Therapeutic Riding, nestled in 25 acres of beautiful fields accompanied by healing horses. Her therapeutic approach emphasizes equine facilitated psychotherapy (EFP), allowing clients to engage with the horses in nature, which fosters respite and healing. Katie's clients benefit from the horses' non-judgmental presence, helping them to overcome obstacles, learn new skills, self-reflect, and work towards their goals. By working outdoors, individuals have the opportunity to reset, ground themselves, and find peace. Specializing in issues such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and building self-esteem and self-confidence, Katie is passionate about harnessing the transformative power of horses to bring joy and insight into her clients' lives. She works with individuals aged 7 and older and provides activities on the ground, with no prior horse experience necessary. In-office sessions are also available, further catering to the diverse needs of her clients.
