Mary Fitzgerald

Mary Fitzgerald is a dedicated licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) who focuses on maximizing individual potential. With over eighteen years of experience, she recognizes that emotional stress and challenges can hinder people of all ages from realizing their optimal level of functioning. Mary provides intensive individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults, with a particular emphasis on guiding adults toward finding a deeper sense of purpose and fostering meaningful connections in their relationships. Her work with children and adolescents encompasses child-centered therapy and parent guidance, enabling families to navigate difficult emotions. Mary’s clinical practice involves a collaborative approach to identify and treat painful symptoms, including depression, anxiety, anger management issues, low self-esteem, self-critical thinking, and addictive behaviors. As an advanced candidate in the analytic program at the Baltimore Washington Center for Psychoanalysis (BWC), she also supervises doctoral students in the Clinical Psychology Program at George Washington University and is a valued faculty member at the Washington School of Psychiatry.
