Catherine Balletto

Catherine Balletto, PhD, is an institute-trained psychotherapist based in Western Massachusetts, with over two decades of experience practicing in New York City, while maintaining her NY licensure. She works integratively within a contemporary, relational, psychodynamic orientation, striving to meet clients where they are and making therapeutic work understandable and accessible, tailored to individual needs. With a profound respect for the ways in which clients invite her to join their journeys, Catherine aims to expand psychic space, demystifying troubling experiences to make them feel less daunting. Her collaborative dialogue investigates how clients relate to and find meaning in the aspects of their lives that feel problematic. Catherine's extensive training and experience inform her belief that suffering and seemingly self-defeating behaviors reflect complex efforts for growth that are seeking realization. She approaches social location and identity as central to development and has specialized expertise in areas such as eating and body image issues, LGBTQQIPSAA sexualities, trauma, and parenting. Additionally, Catherine has a background in women’s reproductive and maternal-child health and brings valuable experience as a clinical supervisor, program developer, and administrator.
