Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program in Jamaica Plain, MA, is a dedicated initiative offering vital nutrition assistance and health education to families in need. Our free services include personalized nutrition consultations, healthy food packages, and comprehensive breastfeeding support, all aimed at ensuring the health of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under the age of five. WIC understands that families come in many forms, including fathers, grandparents, and guardians, and invites all those caring for young children to apply, regardless of their work status. In addition to nutritional support, we provide referrals for essential healthcare, dental services, child care, and housing assistance, ensuring families receive holistic support. Enrollment is simple, especially for those already receiving TAFDC, SNAP, or MassHealth Standard (Medicaid), as these families are automatically income eligible. At WIC, we promote community connections by encouraging discussions among parents about health and nutrition, recognizing the collaborative spirit of family care.
