Samantha Armer

Samantha Armer is a dedicated clinical social worker and therapist, holding both an LICSW and LMSW. She has an extensive academic background with an MSW from the University of Albany's School of Social Welfare, complemented by a Master's in Psychology focused on Marriage and Family Therapy. With over a decade of experience as a birth and postpartum doula and childbirth educator, Samantha brings a unique perspective to her work with families. Her commitment to understanding trauma is further demonstrated by her certificate training in working with victims of assault. Samantha is passionate about supporting diverse populations, including LGBTQ individuals, alternative family structures—particularly poly arrangements—as well as navigating issues related to kink, sexuality, gender identity, grief, and trauma. She thoroughly enjoys working with adolescents and finds it equally fulfilling to assist parents in managing their multifaceted identity roles. Employing a family systems perspective informed by feminist and queer theory alongside cultural humility, Samantha views her clients holistically, paying close attention to all aspects of their identity. Her goal is to foster a collaborative therapeutic relationship that enhances self-awareness, recognizes strengths, and establishes achievable goals for her clients.
