The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Shawnee, KS, is dedicated to cultivating advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We empower Fellows with hands-on training and mentorship to develop their skills in organic food systems education, directly impacting community health and sustainability. Our program allows participants to engage in initiatives such as growing and distributing diversified crops, implementing innovative educational sessions, and enhancing community gardens. By supporting local farmers markets and expanding access to healthy foods, our Fellows play a crucial role in fostering food security and ecological literacy. Selected participants embark on a transformative six-month experience at our farm, followed by a Community Action Year where they partner with regional non-profits to apply their training. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
