Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Pittsburg, KS US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Pittsburg, KS, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders committed to a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through an accessible, tuition-free program, we empower Fellows with hands-on training at our Allegheny Farm, where they engage in organic food system education. Participants have the opportunity to collaborate with local partners to grow and distribute a variety of crops, implement innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into school programs. Our Fellows play a vital role in supporting farmers markets, developing distribution channels for healthy foods, and mentoring future participants. Spanning six months of immersive learning followed by a Community Action Year, this fellowship enables individuals to apply their skills with regional non-profit organizations, driving meaningful change and enhancing food access across the community. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
