The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Paola, KS, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This transformative program offers selected Fellows the chance to immerse themselves in hands-on education at the Allegheny Farm, combining organic food system education with real-world applications aimed at social, environmental, and economic justice. Participants engage in a six-month experiential learning journey, followed by a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profit organizations to implement innovative solutions in food assistance and community health. Fellows learn to grow diversified crops, manage school and community gardens, and promote food literacy in educational settings. By providing this tuition-free fellowship, we strive to create equitable access to essential food initiatives, empowering communities through enhanced food security and wellness. Applications are accepted until March each year for the program that runs from May to October.
