The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Olathe, KS, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable food practices through hands-on, experiential education. This fellowship empowers participants to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By providing a tuition-free program, we ensure accessibility for all aspiring Fellows. Participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops on market-style farms, conducting educational sessions in healthcare, managing community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into local schools. After an immersive six-month training at our site in Allegheny County, VA, selected Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to bolster food justice initiatives. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience spanning from May to October.
