The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Manhattan, KS empowers emerging leaders to champion a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically equitable. Through an immersive six-month program at the Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows engage in organic food system education while gaining hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices. They take part in diverse initiatives such as growing and distributing crops, managing community gardens, and integrating food literacy into educational activities. Graduates continue their journey with a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to strengthen food access and promote healthy eating. Our commitment to accessibility means we do not charge tuition, ensuring that all passionate advocates have the opportunity to make a difference in their communities. Applications are accepted until March for the fellowship cycle running from May to October, creating a vibrant network of advocates for a just food system.
