The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Maize, KS, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators who champion a just, sustainable food system. This unique program empowers Fellows through hands-on training in organic food practices, enabling them to grow diversified crops and engage in community initiatives that enhance access to healthy foods. During a transformative six-month residency at our campus, participants receive comprehensive education on ecological literacy and food systems, while working with local partners to support farmers markets, community gardens, and innovative health care education. Following their residency, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year to apply their skills alongside regional non-profit organizations. Committed to accessibility, the fellowship does not charge tuition, allowing aspiring leaders to cultivate meaningful change in their communities. Applications are open until March each year, with the experience typically running from May to October.
