Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Liberal, KS is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates and educators committed to creating a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By providing hands-on, transformative experiences at the Allegheny Farm, participants receive comprehensive organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout their six-month residency, selected Fellows engage in practical initiatives such as growing and distributing diverse crops, leading innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools. Their journey culminates in a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with local non-profits to broaden access to healthy foods and support food coalition activities, all aimed at strengthening food security. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply by March each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
