The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lenexa, KS, empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and environmentally sound. Through hands-on training and mentorship, our program equips Fellows with essential skills in organic food system education, allowing them to engage in impactful community initiatives. Participants will work on diversified crop production in a market-style farm, facilitate health education, maintain school and community gardens, and enhance food literacy within educational settings. By supporting farmers markets and direct-to-consumer sales, our Fellows help develop channels that ensure healthy food access while collaborating with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year. We prioritize accessibility by not charging tuition, ensuring that committed individuals can join our mission to foster a just food system. Applications are accepted until March with the fellowship typically running from May to October, allowing for six months of immersive, experiential learning at our Allegheny Farm Campus.
