Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA)

At the Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) program in Leavenworth, KS, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive support to patients aged 13 and older who are navigating the challenges of cancer or blood disorders. Our multidisciplinary team—comprised of social workers, child life specialists, nutritionists, physicians, nurses, and research coordinators—works collaboratively to address the unique needs of adolescents and young adults during their treatment journey. We offer a range of services, including emotional support through specially trained Child Life professionals, personalized nutrition planning, fertility counseling, and continued care as patients transition to adult hematology and oncology providers after age 21. At AYA, we prioritize the voices of our patients and their families, ensuring that their feedback drives our commitment to improving the quality of care and support we provide.
