The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Independence, KS, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders in sustainable agriculture through hands-on training and education. Our program empowers Fellows to champion a food system that is equitable, environmentally friendly, and financially viable. We offer a full immersion, six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where participants learn to cultivate diverse crops, enhance food literacy, and foster community engagement through school gardens and farmers markets. Our commitment to accessibility means that we do not charge tuition, making it easier for aspiring advocates to join us. After their fellowship, participants embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to put their skills into practice and promote healthier food access in the region. We welcome applications until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
