Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA)

The Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) program in Hiawatha, KS, is dedicated to providing compassionate support and specialized services for patients aged 13 and older who are undergoing treatment for cancer and blood disorders. We understand the unique challenges that adolescents and young adults face during this critical time and strive to create a nurturing environment that prioritizes their needs. Our comprehensive approach includes a multidisciplinary team of social workers, child life specialists, nutritionists, and medical professionals, all working collaboratively to ensure the best possible care and support for our patients and their families. We offer essential services such as nutrition planning, fertility counseling, and psychological support, always valuing the feedback from patients and families to enhance our care. As patients transition to adult care after age 21, we continue to provide vital connections with adult Hematology/Oncology providers, ensuring continuity of care throughout their journey.
