Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Hiawatha, KS US
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hiawatha, KS, is dedicated to empowering individuals to champion a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By sponsoring and training passionate Fellows, we provide invaluable organic food system education designed to enhance food literacy and accessibility. Our program engages participants in hands-on experiences—including growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms, maintaining community gardens, and implementing innovative educational sessions in health care. Throughout their six months at our farm campus, Fellows also work alongside regional non-profit partners during a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge to support farmers' markets, develop distribution channels for healthy foods, and lead community food initiatives. We believe that our initiative, which does not require tuition, fosters a vibrant local food culture and paves the way for future leaders in sustainable agriculture. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically taking place from May to October.
