The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Clearwater, KS is dedicated to fostering future leaders in the sustainable food movement by sponsoring and training new Fellows to advocate for just systems that prioritize social, environmental, and economic equity. This transformative program offers a comprehensive, tuition-free education in organic food systems, enabling participants to engage in hands-on learning experiences. Throughout the six-month fellowship at Allegheny Farm, Fellows enhance their skills by cultivating diverse crops, leading innovative health education sessions, maintaining community gardens, and promoting food literacy in schools. Additionally, they are empowered to support local farmers markets and develop effective distribution channels that enhance access to healthy food options. After their immersive training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their education and make meaningful impacts in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
