The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cherryvale, KS, empowers individuals to become advocates and educators for a just and sustainable food system. Through hands-on training and organic food system education, Fellows engage in meaningful projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops on market-style farms, implementing innovative health care education, and maintaining community gardens. This program also emphasizes integrating food and ecological literacy into schools, supporting farmers markets, and enhancing access to healthy foods through strategic distribution networks. Over a transformative six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows prepare for a Community Action Year, applying their skills in partnership with regional non-profits to foster a fair food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience occurring from May to October.
