Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Burlington, KS US
At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Burlington, KS, we inspire and empower individuals to advocate for a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Our Fellowship program offers comprehensive, tuition-free organic food system education, enabling participants to immerse themselves in impactful learning experiences at our farm. Over a six-month period, selected Fellows engage in hands-on training, working on a market-style farm where they grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and foster food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, our Fellows support local farmers' markets, develop channels for increased access to healthy foods, and mentor future cohorts. Following this transformative experience, they embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to leverage their training for positive change in the community. Applications are open until March of each year, with program activities taking place from May to October, creating a pathway for emerging leaders in sustainable food practices.
