The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Bonner Springs, KS, is dedicated to fostering the next generation of food justice advocates and educators. Through a no-cost program, we empower our Fellows with vital training in socially, environmentally, and economically just food systems. Over a transformative six-month experiential learning period at our farm, participants engage in organic food system education, cultivate diverse crops, and develop a deep understanding of food and ecological literacy. Our program also emphasizes community engagement, as Fellows are encouraged to establish community gardens, support farmers markets, and implement health-focused educational sessions. Following their immersive training, each Fellow enters a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October, offering a hands-on opportunity to influence local food accessibility and enhance community resilience.
