The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Carbondale, IL, is dedicated to nurturing future leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. This transformative program empowers Fellows through hands-on education in organic food systems, emphasizing social, environmental, and economic equity. We provide an accessible learning experience with no tuition fees, allowing participants to engage deeply with diversified crop production, community gardening, and innovative health education initiatives. Throughout the six-month experiential residency at Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows collaborate with regional non-profits, enhancing food access and ecological literacy while supporting farmers markets and community food coalitions. The journey culminates in a Community Action Year, where they apply their expertise to make a lasting impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
