Javonna Marie Arriaga

Javonna Marie Arriaga is a compassionate Marriage & Family Therapist, dedicated to providing a safe space for clients to explore their joy, pain, fear, courage, and compassion. Her journey into therapy began as a client facing her own lived traumas, where she often found herself in sessions with therapists whose experiences and backgrounds differed from hers. Although she felt relief during those times, she realized that the depth of healing she sought was missing, inspiring her to become a therapist herself. Utilizing Solution-Focused, Narrative, Bowen Family Systems, and Trauma-Informed approaches, she integrates Decolonial and Indigenous frameworks into her healing work. With personal experiences spanning immigration, prison, foster care, and mental health systems, Javonna understands that many struggles stem from societal expectations, familial pressures, and the stories individuals tell themselves. She emphasizes the importance of recognizing these narratives and empowers her clients to choose the stories they wish to embrace in their lives. Javonna works with a diverse clientele, including individuals, couples, and families from blended, same-sex, multicultural, polyamorous, and kink backgrounds. Her passion lies in seeing each person for who they truly are, rather than how the world may try to define them.
