Robert DeFranco

Dr. Robert DeFranco is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, therapist, and college instructor dedicated to helping individuals and couples improve their quality of life. With expertise in clinical behavior analysis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), he works with children, adults, and couples struggling with maladaptive behaviors that may adversely affect them and those around them. Dr. DeFranco also specializes in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism, Down Syndrome, and Cerebral Palsy. He effectively addresses various problematic behaviors, such as conflicts with partners, parents, children, or work-related challenges. Through thorough initial assessments, he creates personalized behavior plans and teaches new behavioral skills in session. His practice is informed by the rich history of behavior analysis, extending back to the early 20th century, and is enhanced by incorporating the highly regarded research-backed methods of ACT. Dr. DeFranco accommodates a range of clients, accepting Medicaid (Title 19 and 21), Children's Medical Services, Early Steps, and most private insurance carriers for those with a physician's diagnosis, as well as indications of maladaptive behavior and medical necessity. Additionally, he welcomes private pay clients, including individuals, couples, and families, into his practice.
