Esther Mcdonough

Esther Mcdonough is a dedicated Clinical Social Worker and Therapist with over 25 years of experience in the mental health field. She earned her MSW from Indiana University Northwest School of Social Work and has developed her private practice into a welcoming and relaxed environment where clients can feel hopeful about change. Using the unique setting of therapy on the beach, Esther employs a positive and integrative approach to foster healing and growth. She works with a diverse clientele, including adults and elders facing challenges such as Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties. Her expertise encompasses a variety of therapy types, including Trauma Focused, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which allows her to tailor her methods to each individual's needs. Esther’s compassionate framework enables families to reconnect and supports couples through her innovative WAR technique. In addition, she is skilled in helping the elderly navigate feelings of isolation and depression as they confront end-of-life issues. Throughout her career, Esther has provided care in various environments, including inpatient, outpatient, and clients' homes. She adeptly incorporates techniques from narrative therapy, play therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to enhance her clients' coping skills.
