Young Adult Services (YAS) in Waterford, CT, is dedicated to empowering young adults aged 18-25 who have experienced trauma and face significant mental health challenges. Our program offers a nurturing residential environment where individuals receive tailored support for up to 24 months, guided by the expertise of the Southeastern Mental Health Authority (SMHA) and the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS). Focused on the unique needs of each member, we provide 24/7 care that includes clinical support, individualized life skills training—from budgeting and cooking to coping strategies—and opportunities for peer mentorship and community volunteering. By fostering collaboration with families and ensuring comprehensive transportation to health appointments, we strive to create a holistic support system that encourages each young adult to thrive and achieve their personal goals.
