Mary Reisel

Mary Reisel is a dedicated and compassionate therapist with over 20 years of experience as a social worker and more than 14 years specializing as an art therapist. Throughout her career, she has worked with children and families in diverse settings, including foster care and residential services. Her expertise encompasses a range of sensitive issues such as grief and loss, trauma, family discord, emotional disturbances, and mood disorders. Since becoming a parent in 2006, Mary has developed a passion for supporting parents, women, and adolescents, and she excels in connecting with individuals who may feel uneasy about traditional talk therapy. Mary specializes in grief and loss, fertility and miscarriage, depression, anxiety, and behavioral and emotional challenges. She employs both verbal and non-verbal therapeutic methods, customizing her approach to align with each client’s unique needs and aspirations. Having completed a course in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in June 2017, Mary integrates meditation and yoga practices into her personal life and therapeutic work. Known for her warmth and engagement, she strives to empower her clients through art therapy—a process that she believes is a profound act of courage and self-discovery.
