Everyday Eats, part of the federally recognized Commodity Supplemental Food Program, is dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of low-income seniors aged 60 and over in Fruita, CO, and beyond. Our program provides eligible older adults with a monthly food box filled with nutritious staples such as non-perishable proteins, milk, juice, cereals, canned or dried fruits and vegetables, and cheeses. Each box is accompanied by helpful nutrition education and recipes aimed at fostering healthy eating habits. We collaborate with partner agencies across several counties including Mesa, Montrose, and Garfield to facilitate outreach, ensure accessibility, and assist in monthly grocery box distribution, making sure our seniors have reliable access to food assistance. For those unable to travel, homebound delivery options are available within designated counties. To qualify for this essential food assistance program, individuals must be 60 years or older, reside in Colorado, and meet specific income guidelines. Together, we strive to ensure that no senior goes hungry and that every elder has access to the nutrition they need.
