Susan Solstice

Susan Solstice is a passionate therapist specializing in equine-assisted therapy (EAT), animal-assisted therapy (AAT), and eco-therapy (nature therapy), all of which are experiencing increasing recognition in the mental health field. She conducts her sessions at Saddles of Joy, Inc., a comprehensive therapeutic riding center, providing unique opportunities for individuals to address issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, impulse regulation, communication skills, assertiveness, boundaries, and social interactions through the healing power of animals, particularly horses. With a robust background as a certified horse industry professional since 1976, Susan also holds a master’s degree and is both state and nationally licensed as a mental health counselor. Her personal experiences as a military family member and a domestic violence survivor underpin her empathetic understanding of trauma-informed care. By harmoniously integrating these dynamic experiential therapies with traditional person-centered therapeutic approaches, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strength-based techniques, and solution-focused strategies, Susan fosters a holistic healing environment that reconnects individuals with both nature and their inner selves.
