A true pioneer in the field of intervention, Dr. Pickens is recognized as a leading speaker on the intervention process on a national scale. He completed his post-doctoral work in the School of Alcohol Studies at Rutgers University in 1975, where he had the privilege of training under Dr. Vernon Johnson, the father of modern intervention. With a wealth of experience, he has conducted over 2000 interventions and is nationally licensed by the Association of Intervention Specialists. In addition to his national credentials, Dr. Pickens is licensed in Arizona as an Independent Substance Abuse Counselor and as a Marriage and Family Therapist, showcasing his commitment to supporting individuals and families in their recovery journeys.
