Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training (DSME)

At the Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing in Sun City, AZ, the Diabetes Self-Management Education/Training (DSME) Program is dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage and prevent diabetes complications. This comprehensive five-week series, accredited by the American Association of Diabetes Educators, covers essential topics such as understanding diabetes, healthy eating habits, physical activity, effective monitoring, medication management, problem-solving strategies, and risk reduction techniques. Our goal is to support participants in taking control of their health through practical education. The DSME program is accessible to many, as it is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans, though a physician referral is required for registration.
