Parks is a dedicated Registered Play Therapist whose personal model of counseling is deeply influenced by Alfred Adler's belief that individuals start to shape their approach to life during their first six years. With a strong connection to Erik Erikson's psychosocial stages of development, particularly in infancy and early childhood, Parks focuses on providing compassionate mental health therapy to some of the youngest children in the Northern Alabama area. Through play therapy, which serves as a vital language for children to express their feelings and experiences, Parks addresses the needs of children who have faced physical, emotional, or mental abuse, sometimes even prior to birth. By employing techniques rooted in play therapy, Parks helps children become more accountable for their behaviors and cultivates effective coping strategies. As a counselor guided by a strong sense of purpose, Parks embodies the principles of compassion, particularly in serving vulnerable populations, including children grappling with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), grief, Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), anxiety, and Selective Mutism.
