Living with Type 2 Diabetes Program

The Living with Type 2 Diabetes Program in Shishmaref, AK is dedicated to supporting individuals newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes through a comprehensive, year-long journey of education and empowerment. This free program, offered in both English and Spanish, provides participants with valuable resources that include six informative e-booklets tailored to their needs, a monthly e-newsletter filled with seasonal tips, and updates on local community events to encourage a healthy lifestyle. Enrollees also benefit from a Healthy Living newsletter and have the opportunity to engage in a monthly 'Ask the Experts' Q&A series, where they can pose their diabetes-related questions to ADA professionals, connect online or by phone, and discover the crucial relationship between diabetes and heart health.
