Elders Program

Located in Kwethluk, AK, the Elders Program by APIA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in our community by providing essential support services and assistance with basic needs. Our comprehensive offerings include caregiver training, case management, and access to durable medical equipment, ensuring that our elders receive the compassionate care they deserve. We facilitate consumer-directed personal care assistant (PCA) services, respite care, and fall and injury prevention education to promote safety and well-being. Additionally, we assist with Medicare/Medicaid navigation and offer the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) to foster community engagement. Our monthly elder food box and community gatherings, such as teas and potlucks, help combat isolation, while our transportation services within the Anchorage area ensure mobility for our seniors. With elder advocacy, resource assistance, and tailored training programs like Older Adult Mental Health First Aid, we are committed to nurturing a supportive environment for the elders of Kwethluk.
