Elders Program

Located in Kake, AK, the Elders Program offered by APIA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in our community by providing essential food assistance and a wide range of support services. Our mission is to empower older adults through caregiver training, case management, and access to durable medical equipment. We prioritize the well-being of seniors through Consumer Directed Personal Care Assistant (PCA) services, respite services, and impactful fall and injury prevention education. Additionally, we offer guidance with Medicare and Medicaid, engage volunteers through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and ensure that our elders receive nutritious monthly food boxes. Community gatherings like monthly elder teas and potlucks, as well as transportation services in the Anchorage area, foster connection and support. With a strong focus on advocacy and resource assistance, we strive to be a vital lifeline for our elders, ensuring they feel valued, supported, and connected.
